New Music from the mysterious Dakota.

Continuing my thoughts on dreamworlds, mention of Automatic Tasty‘s music only seems fitting. Electronic as they come, AT’s layering of ethereal pads and computerized melodies is so effective at producing emotion from machines it’s common to simply loose yourself in cybernetic bliss.

Strange Terrain exemplifies this wonderfully with nods to cinematic scores, fantasy and soundtracks backing a catamaran vacation voyage through vibrant blue waters. AT’s LP World Wide Web was offered up by Acroplane last year as a free download. It’s highly recommend to check it out.

I once dreamt of world made entirely from some type of metal alloy. The walls, the furniture, the roads were all created from a what most would conceder to be cold, unforgiving subtrance however unlike the sterile atmosphere of a prison or hospital, this world was familiar, warm and  inviting.

The idiosyncrasy found in early dub music can almost always be traced back the unpredictable results of the human touch interacting with the synthetic. Innergaze‘s Shadow Disco lives inside a dream world housed within walls a 60′s era Plate Reverb. It’s out soon on the 100% SILK imprint.

Crème Organization returns this month with two new additions to their Jak series. Chicago Slags and the mysterious Myriadd both deliver 4 track EP’s dripping in acid bass and warehouse classico motifs.

Visually speaking, Crème’s lengthy and impressive catalog has always been instantly recognizable thanks to Mehdi Rouchiche aka Godspill’s illustrations.

The artwork that accompanies the Jak Series seems to pull a welcome influence from Charles Burns’ graphic novel Black Hole by flirting with ideas of sexuality, genetics and sinister intentions.

Keeping it WC, I’m including a rather delicious mix by label boss TLR featured on Tim Sweeney’s BIS show in 2010.

An absolutely incredible Funerals remix of Violet Trance surfaced some days ago. I’m totally in love with the little delayed hits that button up each bar. Coupled with melancholy leads and the white noise of decay drawn snares my mind is transported to a world of rain soaked sidewalks, pressed shirts and forgotten brands of American cigarettes.

Violet Tremors debut album is scheduled for release on Mannequin later this year.

Trust‘s Candy Walls backed by Trinity see’s it’s official release today on Sacred Bones. Maybe it’s the Twin Peaks like setting of the video that’s creating imaginary parallels with David Lynch’s Ghosts Of Love… either way, the association should be taken as a compliment.
